Dewsbury-Hall received the honors of both Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year at Leicester last season under Maresca, shining as an attacking midfielder with a remarkable tally of 12 goals and 15 assists – his most impressive stats in his professional career.

He may make his Chelsea debut during Saturday’s pre-season match against Celtic in Notre Dame, California (21:00 BST), after being unable to participate in the 2-2 draw with Wrexham.

Dewsbury-Hall appears in several video clips used by Maresca to convey his tactical strategies, and he remarked: “Some of the lads have joked about me being the teacher’s favorite, but I don’t mind – it’s all in good fun.”

“I’ve had teammates approach me with questions. I’m more than happy to share my thoughts and experiences with them. They’ll form their own insights as the weeks go by.”

Dewsbury-Hall is confident that Maresca will find success where previous managers—like Mauricio Pochettino, Graham Potter, and Thomas Tuchel—faced challenges under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership.

“We’ve only been working together for two or three weeks, but the combination plays look really quick and sharp,” he stated. “That’s just after a short time. I remember he told us back at Leicester that, although there might be initial bumps after six months or a year, things would get better.”

“After just a week at Leicester, I was convinced this was top-tier coaching. I felt a bit naive because I thought I knew a lot about football, but he taught me new things every day that I hadn’t known before. He has a unique presence; he can be both strict and kind, balancing both sides well.”

“I’m receiving similar feedback from the lads here. They’ve embraced the system from day one, which is really thrilling. To succeed with a system and philosophy, it’s vital that everyone commits to it, because when they do, we can achieve something great.”
