After nearly two and a half years of legal disputes, Jerry Jones has finally resolved a case with a woman claiming to be his biological daughter.

In March 2022, Alexandra Davis filed a lawsuit against Jones in Dallas County, requesting that a judge invalidate a legal arrangement she claimed her mother made with Jones two years post her birth.

The alleged agreement stated that Jones would provide financial support as long as they refrained from publicly acknowledging him as Davis’ father, prompting Jones to launch a countersuit for breach of contract.

Jones has agreed to withdraw his countersuit if Davis retracts her lawsuits against him, including one that required Jones to submit to a DNA test, as reported by various media outlets.

The agreement reached on Tuesday will keep the 1998 settlement intact.

“It was resolved. It was unfortunate,” Jones stated, according to the Star-Telegram. “It was sensitive to me and my family… It was resolved. I certainly am where I want to be.”

“I regret that it came to this, and I’m glad that it is resolved to everyone’s satisfaction,” he added, via NBC Dallas-Fort Worth.

Davis withdrew her 2022 lawsuit a month later and filed a paternity suit in which a judge mandated Jones to undergo a DNA test earlier this year. Subsequently, she initiated a defamation claim against Jones in November, alleging that he and two associates devised a scheme to label her as “an extortionist.”

She managed to refile her complaint based on statements from a March 2022 ESPN article, as reported by ABC News last year. The complaint asserted that Jones’ attorney, Donald P. Jack, and Jim Wilkinson, a communications consultant for the Jones family, falsely characterized Davis as “being an extortionist” and depicted her as attempting to “shakedown” Jones.
