Ryan Sessegnon has returned to Fulham on a two-year contract following the expiration of his deal with Tottenham.

The 24-year-old, who began his career at Fulham, is back at Craven Cottage until 2026, with the option to extend for another year, after leaving for Spurs in a £25m transfer in August 2019.

His time at Tottenham was plagued by hamstring injuries, resulting in just 57 appearances for the team.

“It’s fantastic to be back. It’s also an emotional moment,” said the former England Under-21 international.

“This is where it all began for me, where my journey started.

“It will always be a home for me. Returning here felt destined, so I’m thrilled to finalize the move.”

During his initial time with the Cottagers, Sessegnon netted 25 goals and provided 18 assists in 120 senior matches.

While contracted to Tottenham, he had a loan spell at German club Hoffenheim in the 2020-21 season.

He is now the first signing of the summer for Fulham manager Marco Silva.

Additionally, Fulham continues to pursue Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe after an initial bid was turned down.
