Celtic have intensified their efforts to secure a loan deal for left-back Hugo Bueno from Wolves.
The champions of the Scottish Premiership are eager to acquire the left-back on a season-long loan after missing out on signing him in January.
Negotiations between the clubs are ongoing, but as of now, no agreement has been reached.
Bueno finds himself behind Rayan Ait-Nouri at Molineux, with the Algerian international clearly becoming the first-choice under manager Gary O’Neil.
Celtic aims to strengthen their squad ahead of next season’s title defence, having so far only signed goalkeepers Viljami Sinisalo and Kasper Schmeichel this summer.
Earlier this month, they had a bid turned down for Norwich striker Adam Idah, who made a significant impact after joining on loan last season, including scoring the decisive goal against Rangers in the Scottish Cup final.
The Spain Under-21 international Bueno has appeared 49 times for Wolves and has netted one goal since joining the club from Areosa’s academy in 2019.
Currently, he is participating in Wolves’ pre-season tour in the United States, where they are set to play West Ham United in Florida this Saturday.
Meanwhile, Celtic are also in the States and are scheduled to face Chelsea in Indiana on Saturday, ahead of their Scottish Premiership opener against Kilmarnock on Sunday, 4 August.
