If there’s one takeaway from the Biden administration, it’s that combating misinformation can be done through musical performances.
In this spirit, let’s examine three of the most egregious examples of conspicuous disinformation disseminated to the American public during Vice President Kamala Harris’ nascent presidential campaign. We won’t just highlight the blatant falsehoods, but we’ll also add some creative interpretations of popular show tunes for everyone to enjoy and share.
The clearest instance is the Democrats and the media’s astonishing reversal regarding whether Harris served as Joe Biden’s border czar. She indeed did. Much like how John Kerry acted as climate czar and Bill Bennett was once termed education czar. It’s a figurative label, not an official appointment to a royal court.
LIBERAL MEDIA ASSURES KAMALA HARRIS NEVER WAS ‘BORDER CZAR,’ CONTRADICTING THEIR PRIOR REPORTS
Joe Biden assigned Harris the responsibility of addressing the situation at the border multiple times—and it’s documented. Republicans aren’t fabricating this, and the media had no reservations about labeling the vice president as the main authority for border issues. Now, it’s suddenly being denied.
For this misinformation, I opted for the Gene Autry classic from 1939, “South of the Border Down Mexico Way.”
Our Southern border
Was managed by a czar
Her name was Ka-ma-la
And her sole duty
Was to keep migrants at bay
She stated – please don’t come here,
In your homelands please stay
Yet over 8 million,
They came anyway.
Ay, ay, ay, ay
Ay, ay, ay, ay
Ay, ay, ay, ay, indeed.
The next colossal fib I wanted to address was the assertion that Kamala Harris “earned” the nomination in just two and a half days through a vigorous, “grassroots” and “bottom-up” endeavor. According to Chuck Schumer and the liberal media, it sounds as if tens of millions of Democratic voters gathered at local venues, holding straw polls. In reality, no one has voted for Kamala for president other than the party elites.
For this, I chose to adapt the beloved 1924 classic by Isham Jones and Gus Kahn, “It Had to Be You,” famously performed by Dooley Wilson in “Casablanca.”
It had to be Kamala
It had to be Kamala
The voters be ignored, the bosses prefer
The poor suckers follow ya
For no one else, Barack will obey
So, it’s Harris all the way
It had to be Kamala
Cacklin’ Kamala
It had to be HER!

Lastly, there’s the concerning issue of Govtrack, a purportedly neutral site that deleted a previous page correctly identifying Harris as the most liberal senator. Simultaneously, her Wikipedia page is undergoing edits. And who knows what other information is being rapidly erased in a manner reminiscent of Orwell’s writings. This represents a reconfiguration of history occurring right before our eyes, with no attempts to obfuscate. The former leftist Kamala is disappearing, while a neo-moderate persona emerges.
The appropriate pick from the American songbook is the Rogers and Hammerstein piece “Wash that Man Right Out of My Hair,” from “South Pacific.”
I’m gonna wash that woke right outta my hair
I’m gonna wash that woke right outta my hair
Govtrack will erase it
The media will replace it
And usher new Kamala through the door.

We all play a crucial part in combating misinformation. However, as one former disinformation czar from the Biden administration taught us, there’s no reason we can’t approach it with a melody in our hearts.
