A woman from New Jersey visiting Nashville was located safe after “emerging” from a riverbank, as reported by police.
Following an extensive search by the Nashville Metropolitan Police (NMPD) and the Nashville Fire Department that continued into Thursday morning, 33-year-old Alexandria Chmiel was found.
“BREAKING: Allie Chmiel has emerged from the riverbank and is currently in conversation with our [investigative] team,” announced the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department on X.

One user on X commented, “Thank God! She was fortunate.”
Chmiel had been in Music City visiting with a friend when she went missing early on the morning of July 25.

“Officers are searching the area near the riverbank at 1st & Woodland for Alexandria Chmiel, 33, who is visiting from NJ,” stated the NMPD in a previous post on X.
“She got separated from her friend at 3rd & Broadway before 2 a.m. and was reported as missing at 3:42 a.m. The last sighting on downtown cameras was at 1st & Woodland,” the post elaborated.

The search operations by the Nashville Fire Department included the use of drones and rope techniques in hopes of finding Chmiel.
Upon her discovery, the NFD announced on X, “This is the best news we could have asked for!! The missing person has been found! NFD crews are currently assessing her on-site and getting her ready for transport to the hospital.”

A spokesperson for the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department stated in a call with Fox News Digital that “detectives were present and spoke with her. There was no evidence of foul play. She did not suffer any serious injuries and was taken to the hospital for evaluation… this was done purely as a precaution.”
Earlier this year, a college student from Missouri, Riley Strain, went missing in Nashville after a night with fraternity brothers in the same region and was later found deceased.

Investigations by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission determined that bars in the vicinity had committed no violations.
