Chris LaCivita, a senior advisor for Trump’s 2024 campaign, criticized the recent attacks on vice presidential candidate JD Vance regarding his comments about “childless cat ladies” in the Democratic Party, labeling the backlash as “completely ridiculous.”
In an appearance on “The Brian Kilmeade Show” on Fox News, LaCivita remarked that the uproar over Vance’s remarks—made during an interview three years prior—was exaggerated, clarifying to the radio host that the Trump/Vance campaign is not opposed to “childless women” as suggested by the liberal media.
“The truth is, it’s been grossly taken out of context,” the Trump advisor asserted during the segment that aired on Friday.

In that 2021 interview, Vance asserted, “We are essentially governed in this country by the Democrats and our corporate elites, led by a contingent of childless cat ladies who are unhappy with their own lives and the choices they’ve made, eager to make the rest of the country miserable too.”
During the same interview, he specifically identified Vice President Harris and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., as part of this cohort.
This week, various prominent liberals, including Hillary Clinton and actress Jennifer Aniston, lambasted Vance, accusing him of belittling women who are childless by choice or circumstance.
LaCivita countered these recent criticisms directed at Vance, suggesting they were exaggerated and interpreted with bad intentions.
The senior advisor went on to turn the media’s criticisms back on them, saying, “Today there was a discussion where the follow-up attack from Democrats is that JD Vance believes only those with children should receive particular tax deductions.”

“That’s referred to as the childcare tax credit,” he added, explaining, “So now we have the Democratic Party and Kamala Harris’s campaign on record opposing something that has been law for years—the childcare tax credit.”
LaCivita also criticized the Democratic tactics used against the Republican vice-presidential candidate, saying, “We expect this kind of behavior. They pull out their has-been celebrities, like Jennifer Aniston, to make these attacks.”
“We are committed to advocating for working women in the U.S., the neglected members of the middle class. JD Vance embodies that perfectly. They recognize this and it terrifies them… They will continue to spin fictional narratives while we manage the fallout,” he stated.
Kilmeade then inquired whether the Trump campaign is “against childless women,” to which LaCivita firmly replied, “No, that’s ridiculous. It’s completely ridiculous.”
