An undocumented migrant shot and injured a police officer in Texas during an early morning encounter on Sunday, according to multiple law enforcement sources who spoke with Fox News.
Jorge Chacon-Gutierrez, a 25-year-old Venezuelan national, was killed in the exchange of gunfire with officers from the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD). It remains unclear whether he was shot by the officers or if he took his own life.
The incident started when SAPD responded to a domestic violence report around 3 a.m. Officers discovered the suspect in bed with a rifle.
Chacon-Gutierrez began firing at the police, who then returned fire, resulting in injuries to a female officer.

According to sources, the officer sustained multiple gunshot wounds and underwent surgery on Sunday morning. She is anticipated to recover.
It was later revealed that Chacon-Gutierrez had been detained by Border Patrol after crossing into Eagle Pass, Texas, without authorization in November 2023.
