Adam Burgess helped propel Team GB’s medal tally by securing silver in the men’s canoe slalom event following an impressive showing in the final.

Burgess executed a flawless performance in the final round at the National Olympic Nautical Stadium, taking the lead with three competitors remaining.

He celebrated with Kimberley Woods, who earned a bronze medal in kayaking the previous day, after it was confirmed that he would be on the podium.

Burgess had to wait for France’s Nicolas Gestin, the last participant to navigate the course, to find out which medal he would ultimately receive.

Gestin delivered an exceptional performance, surpassing Burgess’s time and thrilling the local crowd.
