On Monday, House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., alongside Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., revealed the members appointed to a bipartisan panel tasked with investigating the assassination attempt on former President Trump that occurred earlier this month.

“We have full confidence in this bipartisan group of composed, highly qualified, and capable Members of Congress to act swiftly to uncover the facts, ensure accountability, and prevent such oversights from happening in the future,” they stated in a joint press release.

Republican Representative Mike Kelly from Pennsylvania will lead the task force. He notably represents Butler, Pennsylvania, where Trump was targeted during an outdoor rally, resulting in one attendee’s death.

Democratic Representative Jason Crow from Colorado will act as the ranking member.

The 13-member panel also includes Representatives Mark Green, R-Tenn., David Joyce, R-Ohio, Laurel Lee, R-Fla., Michael Waltz, R-Fla., Clay Higgins, R-La., Pat Fallon, R-Texas, Lou Correa, D-Calif., Madeleine Dean, D-Penn., Chrissy Houlahan, D-Penn., Glenn Ivey, D-Md., and Jared Moskowitz, D-Fla.
