This time, Hanson had the chance to guide Paris Olympic viewers through a variety of sporting events during the two-week “Gold Zone” coverage. On Monday, the excitement escalated a bit too much.
Hanson shared a picture on X displaying his injured finger.
“I was pounding the desk on Gold Zone when Team USA secured a medal,” he posted. “I’m designated ‘likely’ to make a comeback.”

Hanson, along with Olympic viewers, witnessed several American athletes earn medals on Monday.
Skateboarders Jagger Eaton and Nyjah Huston secured silver and bronze, respectively, in men’s street events. Team USA men’s gymnastics clinched a bronze in the team finals. In the pool, Katie Grimes, Emma Weyant, Luke Hobson, and Ryan Murphy also brought home medals. Fencer Nick Itkin earned bronze in the individual foil.
