At least eight individuals sustained injuries, and a suspect has been apprehended following a stabbing incident in the United Kingdom, which the Prime Minister has labeled as “deeply shocking.”

The incident occurred around 11:50 a.m. local time in Southport, a town situated north of Liverpool, according to Merseyside Police. They reported that “armed police have detained a male and seized a knife.” At the time of the attack, a “Taylor Swift Yoga and Dance Workshop” for young children was taking place in the vicinity, as reported by the BBC.

The children’s hospital noted in their statement that “our Emergency Department is currently extremely busy” and requested that parents bring their children only “if it is urgent.”
