President Biden responded to a question from Fox News early Tuesday morning about when he would campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris, saying, “well, I did today.”
This comment came after Biden returned from a trip to Austin, Texas, where he delivered a speech expressing his desire for Congress to implement “bold” changes to the Supreme Court, such as introducing term limits and establishing a new code of conduct, as well as proposing a constitutional amendment to restrict presidential immunity.
“When are you going to go out and campaign for the vice president?” Fox News inquired as Biden exited the Marine One helicopter on the South Lawn of the White House.
“Well, I did today,” Biden replied.

When Biden announced his decision to withdraw from the presidential race on July 21, he expressed his “full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year.”
At an event at the LBJ Presidential Library commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act, Biden stated that “recent rulings from the Supreme Court have severely undermined fundamental civil rights principles and protections.”

Biden cited several recent Supreme Court cases, including the reversal of Roe v. Wade and Trump v. United States, which he described as “most shockingly” establishing some presidential immunity, labeling it a “dangerous precedent.”
“This court is being utilized to advance an extreme and unchecked agenda,” Biden stated, referring to the immunity ruling as “a total affront to the fundamental expectations we hold for those who wield power.”
