The Israel Defense Forces reported executing a strike in Beirut on Tuesday, aimed at the commander accused of masterminding the recent attack on a children’s soccer field.
In a message posted on X, the IDF stated that its forces “conducted a targeted strike in Beirut, directed at the commander responsible for the homicide of the children in Majdal Shams and the deaths of many other Israeli civilians.”
“Currently, there are no alterations to the Home Front Command’s defensive protocols. Should any modifications occur, an update will be provided. More details to follow,” the statement indicated.

“Hezbollah has crossed the red line,” wrote Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant on X.
The specifics of the strike remain unclear but coincided with a loud explosion and smoke rising from the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, as reported by J Post.

According to the Times of Israel, various reports identify the targeted commander as Fuad Shukr, also known as Hajj Mohsin, a senior adviser to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
