Senator JD Vance, former President Trump’s running mate from Ohio, is criticizing Kamala Harris, claiming she wrote a letter to trans activist Dylan Mulvaney while neglecting to contact the family of Laken Riley, a Georgia student who was murdered.
“Kamala Harris, the so-called Border Czar, had the time to send a letter to Dylan Mulvaney but hasn’t uttered a word about Laken Riley,” Vance shared in a post on X. “I find it troubling how indifferent Kamala is to American kids losing their lives due to her open border policies.”
Vance shared a screenshot from an Instagram post by Mulvaney dated March 23, which celebrated the trans activist’s achievements in breaking barriers and motivating young individuals around the globe.
“Our administration supports the LGBTQI+ community in their fight for genuine equity and equality and stands against hate and discrimination in all its forms,” the letter stated.
BORDER CZAR KAMALA HARRIS VISITS HOUSTON WEEKS AFTER JOCELYN NUNGARAY ALLEGEDLY MURDERED BY ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS
In February, 22-year-old Laken Riley was tragically murdered while jogging on the dirt trails of the University of Georgia campus in Athens.
Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old illegal immigrant from Venezuela, has been charged with Riley’s murder and has pleaded not guilty.
“Kamala has paid more attention to some irrelevant woke trans influencer than to Laken Riley. Talk about misplaced priorities,” Donald Trump Jr. expressed on X.
The term “border czar” was casually used to describe Harris when President Biden appointed her in 2021 to address the “root causes” of illegal immigration.
However, the Biden administration has refuted the idea of Harris being labeled as the “border czar,” asserting that she was never officially given that designation.

“We aim to clarify the misleading portrayal of the vice president. She was not given the title of border czar. Moreover, independent fact-checkers have confirmed that this claim is not accurate,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre previously stated to Fox News’ Peter Doocy when questioned about Harris’ title.
This isn’t the first instance of Harris being criticized for her lack of response regarding Americans killed by illegal immigrants.
Harris chose to visit Houston instead of offering condolences to the family of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was allegedly raped and murdered by two migrants.
On June 17, Nungaray’s body was discovered, having been strangled. The suspects, identified as Venezuelan nationals Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel, 21, and Franklin Jose Peña Ramos, 26, had entered the U.S. illegally earlier that year.

Notably, during her visit, Harris did not meet with Nungaray’s mourning parents, who have been advocating for a “safer country” and calling for stronger border security to avoid similar tragedies.
“We must stop burying our kids,” Jocelyn’s mother, Alexis Nungaray, expressed tearfully on “Hannity.” “This isn’t right. We need to implement stricter measures for admitting people. This is unacceptable.”
Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott criticized Harris for her Houston visit, stating that she “couldn’t find the time” to visit the southern border.

“Kamala Harris flew to Houston for a political rally, but couldn’t find a few extra miles to see the devastation caused by her border policies,” Abbott wrote in a post on X. “She refused to acknowledge Jocelyn Nungaray, who was recently killed by illegal immigrants in Houston.”
