Centre-half Connor Goldson has departed from Rangers to join Cypriot side Aris Limassol for an undisclosed fee, as confirmed by the Scottish Premiership club.

The 31-year-old Englishman has signed a three-year deal with Aris, after spending six years at Ibrox following his move from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Recruited by former manager Steven Gerrard, Goldson made over 300 appearances for the Scottish Premiership team.

He played a vital role in Rangers’ title victory in the 2020-21 season, during which the team went unbeaten and conceded just 10 goals across 38 matches.

Additionally, he was instrumental in the club’s journey to the Europa League final in 2021-22, as well as securing both the Scottish Cup and League Cup during his tenure with Rangers.

Despite his achievements, Goldson missed the final seven matches of the last season, and head coach Philippe Clement confirmed that he was absent from last week’s friendly against Birmingham City due to a “concrete offer” for the experienced defender.
