Former President Trump is set to visit Chicago, Illinois, for the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Convention, as announced by his campaign on Monday.
The convention will take place at the Hilton Chicago located at 720 South Michigan Avenue, with Trump participating on the opening day, Wednesday, July 31, at noon CST.
The NABJ’s website states that the convention serves as a platform for journalism education, career advancement, networking, and innovative growth.
“This year’s gathering in the Windy City will draw industry leaders, innovators, and influencers from journalism, media, technology, business, government, community service, health, arts, entertainment, education, and beyond,” the website notes.

Trump is scheduled to engage in a Q&A session with political journalists before an audience of registered convention attendees. This discussion will address the most crucial issues impacting the black community, as stated by the Trump campaign and NABJ.
“We anticipate our attendees gaining valuable insights from former President Trump on the critical matters that our members and their audiences prioritize,” NABJ President Ken Lemon commented. “While NABJ does not endorse any political candidates as a journalism organization, we value the important work of our members and appreciate the chance for them to pose difficult questions to receive the honest answers that Black Americans seek.”

The event will be moderated by Harris Faulkner, anchor of The Faulkner Focus and co-host of Outnumbered on FOX News, alongside ABC News senior congressional correspondent Rachel Scott and Semafor political reporter Kadia Goba.
“President Trump achieved more for Black Americans than any other president in modern history through his America First policies impacting the economy, immigration, energy, law enforcement, and foreign relations,” stated the Trump campaign in a press release.
“Historic proportions of Black voters now back President Trump, and the reasoning is straightforward: Black voters recognize that President Trump is the sole presidential candidate capable of delivering results right from day one, as he has done with landmark improvements in unemployment rates for Black Americans, boosts in median income for Black households, persistent funding for HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), comprehensive bipartisan criminal justice reform, and nearly $50 billion allocated for revitalizing Opportunity Zones,” the campaign further elaborated.

Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party, has also been invited to the convention, though her attendance has yet to be confirmed.
Lemon highlighted that the NABJ extends invitations to presidential candidates for the convention during each presidential election cycle.
