Arsenal has acquired Dutch goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar from Aston Villa.

Last season, Van Domselaar made 14 league appearances for Villa after her transfer from the Dutch club Twente, achieving two clean sheets. Unfortunately, she sustained a hip injury in March that sidelined her for the remainder of the season.

The 24-year-old expressed that Arsenal is “the right place” for her to “win trophies and accomplish significant goals”.

She has represented her nation in both Euro 2022 and the 2023 Women’s World Cup.

The manager of Arsenal, Jonas Eidevall, stated that he was “thrilled” to welcome a goalkeeper who would be a “valuable asset” to their squad.

He remarked: “She is an exceptional goalkeeper with significant experience on some of the biggest platforms, and we have faith that she possesses immense potential for further growth.”

The Gunners, whose contract details for Van Domselaar remain undisclosed, concluded the previous season in third place in the Women’s Super League.
