Biles shared a collage of images on Instagram depicting her and her teammates carrying the American flag to celebrate their team final gold medal win. In her post, Biles was direct.

“Lack of talent, lazy, Olympic champions,” she stated.

This seemed to be a response to feedback from former American Olympic gymnast MyKayla Skinner, who was part of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics team and earned a silver medal on vault after Biles left the team to manage the twisties.

Prior to the 2024 Paris Olympics, Skinner expressed her views on the team.

“Aside from Simone, I feel like the overall talent and depth just isn’t on par with previous years. Notably, many of the girls seem not to work as hard. The work ethic just isn’t there,” Skinner commented in a since-deleted YouTube video, according to the New York Post.

Skinner later apologized for her comments earlier this month.

Nevertheless, her remarks appeared to add extra motivation for the gymnastics team, who now seem to be on a redemption quest.

Jordan Chiles reacted to Biles’ post, stating “and that’s on periodt!!”.
