Son Heung-min netted a brace as Tottenham narrowly defeated a selection of the top stars from South Korea’s premier league, clinching a 4-3 victory in a friendly match.
Dejan Kulusevski initiated the scoring after 29 minutes, setting the stage for Son to shine during his homecoming in Seoul.
He expertly curled a shot into the top corner in the 38th minute and converted a Kulusevski assist to extend his side’s lead to 3-0 by halftime.
However, Team K League rallied in the second half, quickly scoring twice after making a full team substitution at halftime, with Stanislav Iljutcenko scoring both goals within the first five minutes of the restart.
This prompted Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou to make adjustments, and substitute Will Lankshear volleyed in a cross from Timo Werner, restoring a two-goal advantage for the team.
Oberdan brought the hosts closer with a goal in the final nine minutes, but Spurs managed to maintain their lead, with James Maddison nearly adding to the score by hitting the post in stoppage time.
They will return to pre-season action on Saturday, facing Bayern Munich at 12:00 BST in Seoul.
