Authorities are warning that the Venezuelan street gang Tren de Aragua has allegedly issued what they are referring to as a “green light” for attacks against police officers.
A bulletin from the Colorado Information Analysis Center, shared with Fox News Digital, indicates that a police department in New Mexico has received alerts from federal sources about inciting violence against police in Denver.
“The Albuquerque New Mexico Police Department (APD) has released this officer safety bulletin to inform law enforcement of intelligence regarding the Tren De Aragua criminal organization and reports that TDA members in Denver have received a ‘green light’ to attack law enforcement,” the bulletin states.

The initial report came from The New York Post, citing a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) memo indicating similar concerns through “credible human sources from Colorado,” and mentioning a TdA presence in Chicago. NewsNation also covered an officer safety bulletin that reached Border Patrol agents with similar warnings.
The Denver Police Department informed Fox News Digital that they are aware of the alert.
“As with any intel regarding potential criminal activity affecting other jurisdictions, details are shared across agencies. DPD is actively monitoring and informing officers of the safety issues communicated by our law enforcement counterparts,” the statement clarified.
APD could not confirm any specifics from media reports, stating that sharing internal police bulletins “might jeopardize investigations or officers’ safety.”
HSI has yet to provide a response to Fox News Digital’s inquiries.
This notification marks the latest alert concerning the Venezuelan street gang, which has made its way across the southern border.
“Keep an eye on this gang,” cautioned Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens in May. “Their illicit activities pose a substantial threat to our communities!”
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has previously issued intelligence reports detailing the gang’s tattoos and identifiers.

TdA is reported to engage in extortion, kidnapping, murder, and sex trafficking. Federal officials continue to alert that the gang is attempting to establish itself in the U.S. where law enforcement already associates it with organized crime. The FBI has also indicated the potential for the gang to ally with the notorious MS-13.
The gang garnered further attention following revelations that a brother of the suspect linked to the murder of Georgia student Laken Riley had connections to the organization. Both individuals are Venezuelan illegal immigrants. Recently, the Treasury classified Tren de Aragua as a significant transnational criminal organization, offering financial rewards for the apprehension of three of its leaders.
John Fabbricatore, a former ICE field office director now running for a congressional seat in Colorado as a Republican, expressed to Fox News Digital that the gang has established a foothold in the state and is overtaking apartment complexes. He noted that the gang has exploited the ongoing border crisis.

“This entire border situation over the past three and a half years has allowed numerous criminals to infiltrate the United States, resulting in a surge in crime, particularly related to illegal immigrants, and sanctuary cities are exacerbating the issue,” he stated.

He reiterated warnings about the gang’s activities, indicating their involvement in drug trafficking, large-scale operations, and other crimes.
“For U.S. citizens and residents, they pose a serious threat. With their issued ‘green light’ targeting police officers in the U.S., we could see gang members openly confronting law enforcement, as they do not respect the authorities in this country,” he cautioned.
