Sharon Stone is not letting a black eye spoil her holiday.
The “Basic Instinct” star posted a photo of her unsightly bruise on social media during her European getaway to her almost 4 million Instagram followers.
“This trip has been challenging, but I’m tougher,” she shared on Instagram Wednesday, along with an image showcasing her black eye.
On Thursday, she provided a video update, donning sunglasses and a hat while relaxing by the private pool at her hotel in Turkey.

“I know many of you are curious about how I ended up with a black eye, so let me explain. I’ve stayed in so many hotels across different countries that I got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, not realizing where I was, and bumped my face against the marble.”
She continued, “No, nobody harmed me, and yes, I’m perfectly fine. I’m really enjoying my trip, and everyone has been incredibly welcoming wherever I go.”
As she lifted her sunglasses, showing her nearly healed eye, she quipped, “It’s getting better, and it’s truly a stunning shiner. You should see how I took on that marble floor!”

Stone, who recently received a lifetime achievement award at the Taormina Film Festival, reflected on her career during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last month. She reminisced about the challenges she faced to secure the role of Catherine Tramell, her breakout character in 1992’s “Basic Instinct.”
“I was so eager to portray her that I kept the script atop my refrigerator for eight months. I just kept thinking, ‘I’m going to manifest this, I’m going to get this role,’ even as it was offered to countless others,” she recounted, noting that she was ultimately the 13th choice.

“Throughout the entire shoot, the line producer constantly reminded me, calling me Karen. ‘You, Karen, were the 13th choice,’” she added.

She remarked, “Growing up in Meadville, Pennsylvania, I always felt destined to become a movie star. I envisioned living in a house with a spiral staircase. It’s strange because I was incredibly shy. Whenever I read from the Bible in church, I was overwhelmed with shyness, and my tears would fall onto the pages. I was that child who spent time in my closet reading with a flashlight. But deep down, I just knew I would become a star. So, when it finally happened, I felt as though I was truly myself.”
Currently, Stone is dedicating her time to activism and painting.
