James Tavernier emphasizes that he is “totally dedicated” to Rangers and is “living the dream” at the Ibrox club.
The long-standing captain has been rumored for a transfer this summer, with ongoing reports suggesting interest from Turkish teams Besiktas and Trabzonspor.
“I really don’t pay attention to it,” the 32-year-old mentioned on RangersTV when questioned about the rumors.
“I addressed it at the close of last season. My focus is entirely on the task ahead.
“My mindset is always one of total dedication, coming in every day and pushing myself and the team as hard as I can.
“Every day I come in to train brings me joy. I am truly living the dream.”
Tavernier has been part of Rangers since 2015 and signed a contract extension in 2022 that will keep him at the club “well into his thirties.”
The right-back, who netted 24 goals last season, faced a setback with a hip flexor injury in early pre-season but has recently participated in friendlies against Birmingham City and Union Berlin.
Rangers are set to begin their new Premiership season away at Hearts on Saturday.
“Watching the guys train from the sidelines was tough, but my body feels much better now,” he remarked.
“Getting two games under my belt before the season kicks off was crucial. Personally, I am ready to start.”
