Nottingham Forest have secured the signing of Portuguese winger Jota Silva from Vitória de Guimarães, agreeing to a four-year deal valued at €7m (£5.9m) with potential add-ons.

The total cost may rise to €12m if the forward features in over 15 matches and nets 10 goals, while the Portuguese side retains a 20% sell-on clause.

Jota becomes the sixth player to join Nuno Espírito Santo’s squad this summer, following Carlos Miguel, Nikola Milenkovic, Eric da Silva Moreira, Elliot Anderson, and Marko Stamenic.

During his two seasons at Vitória, Jota made 83 appearances and scored 20 goals after joining from Casa Pia in June 2022.

Often compared to Jack Grealish, the winger netted 15 goals in what was a breakout season last year. He earned a call-up to Roberto Martínez’s Portugal squad and made his debut in the March friendlies against Sweden and Slovenia.

Jota, who celebrated his 25th birthday on Thursday, attracted attention from Russian side Krasnodar and Greece’s Panathanaikos. Although West Ham was initially interested, their pursuit faded as they shifted focus to Leeds’ Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville.

Nuno pointed out the need for greater width in the squad last month, stating, “Everyone can see we need wingers. The only natural wingers we have are Callum [Hudson-Odoi] and Anthony [Elanga].”

Crystal Palace have finalized the acquisition of forward Ismaïla Sarr from Marseille on a five-year contract. The 26-year-old previously spent four seasons at Watford, including two in the Premier League and two in the Championship, before moving to Marseille last July.

Palace manager Oliver Glasner commented, “In every year, in every club where he was, he’s shown that he can score goals. He demonstrated it for the national team of Senegal as well, so we are really delighted to welcome him to our group.”

Pascal Gross has been dubbed Brighton’s “greatest-ever Premier League signing” after his move to Borussia Dortmund, concluding a seven-year tenure at Albion where he made 261 appearances.

Brighton chairman Tony Bloom stated, “In terms of his contributions on the pitch, Pascal will go down as the club’s greatest-ever Premier League signing. He has been with us since the beginning of the Premier League era and has been an exceptional player for us.”

Ipswich has signed 31-year-old full-back Conor Townsend from West Brom on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
