Rangers have secured the signing of Dutch defender Robin Propper from FC Twente, pending international clearance.
The 30-year-old served as captain at Twente, who finished third in the Eredivisie last season.
Propper has spent his entire career in the Netherlands, playing for De Graafschap and Heracles Almelo before making his way to Twente in 2021.
He becomes Rangers’ ninth addition of the summer, joining Vaclav Cerny, Hamza Igamane, Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Liam Kelly, Connor Barron, Mohamed Diomande, and the on-loan Oscar Cortes, who both played at Ibrox last season.
“I was thrilled to learn that the club was interested in signing me,” Propper stated in an interview with Rangers TV. “I’ve always expressed my desire to embark on a new adventure abroad, and when a prestigious club like Rangers approaches you, it feels almost unreal.
“This club lives and breathes football, and it’s where you want to showcase your talents.”
“I had conversations with Cyriel Dessers and Vaclav Cerny, and they both spoke highly of the club. It’s great to see some familiar faces.”
Propper’s arrival comes just days after the departure of central defender Connor Goldson, who has signed with Aris Limassol.
