Olympic athletes aim to excel both in Paris and in their personal lives.

The United States is currently in the lead with a total of 30 medals in this year’s Olympics (although only five are gold), yet it appears that they, along with others, are not enjoying similar success in their off-field pursuits.

Rower Emily Delleman recently shared on TikTok her endeavor to fully immerse herself in the Olympic experience, including the pursuit of romance.

However, she has not had much luck in her romantic pursuits, even in the city of love.

“So I was lying on my cardboard bed the other day, recovering, and I was scrolling through TikTok when I saw people saying, ‘Hey, change your location to the Olympic Village. Are you looking for babies?'” Delleman shared in her TikTok. “And I thought to myself, ‘Oh my goodness, that’s brilliant.’ I mean, I’m here right now, so I need to seize this opportunity—when in Rome and all that.”

Delleman mentioned that fellow athletes were “hyping up Tinder,” prompting her to download the app after several years of not using it.

“They were like, ‘Match with pro athletes using our new feature,’ and I thought, ‘Wow, okay. This must be worth it,'” she added.

Unfortunately, the app didn’t meet her expectations.

“I kept scrolling and scrolling without seeing any Olympians. I thought, ‘Maybe my settings are off.’ Nope, I had set the location to a one-mile radius, and so far I think I’ve only found two other Olympians,” she lamented.

“I mean, don’t get me wrong, the Parisian men are stunning—absolutely chef’s kiss. I don’t know what they put in their water, but I had high hopes of meeting someone special. Alas, it seems I’ll have to find entertainment elsewhere, which is why you’re seeing me on TikTok now.”
