Passengers on various cruise ships recently participated in a world record-setting pizza party.
Princess Cruises, based in Santa Clarita, California, has once again earned a Guinness World Record after orchestrating a massive pizza gathering on several of its ships.
On July 12, 2024, guests aboard a fleet of Princess Cruises vessels devoured over 60,000 slices of pizza in an attempt to secure a Guinness World Record.

According to Guinness World Records, a total of 11,445 people participated in the pizza extravaganza across 16 Princess Cruises ships located in Alaska, Europe, and the Caribbean.
The cruise line informed Fox News Digital that this record-breaking attempt for the “World’s Largest Pizza Party at Multiple Venues” served to highlight its collaboration with renowned pizza chef Tony Gemignani, who crafted the delicious pizzas onboard.

The pizzas prepared for this record contained over 6,500 pounds of dough, more than 3,400 pounds of flour, nearly 1,400 pounds of pepperoni, and over 2,300 pounds of cheese.

Following their second Guinness World Record achievement, John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises, expressed excitement over the new record, especially in conjunction with the announcement of their partnership with Gemignani.

The world champion chef conveyed to Fox News Digital how much he cherished breaking a world record with Princess Cruises.

The cruise line previously set a 2020 world record for the largest marriage vow renewal ceremony, which involved over 1,443 couples across three ships.
Princess Cruises began operations in 1965 with a single ship to Mexico and now serves around two million passengers annually to numerous destinations.

With a total of 15 ships, it operates trips to over 330 ports, offering experiences ranging from three to 111 days, according to information on the brand’s website.
