A video shared by Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker seems to hint that Gov. Josh Shapiro, D-Penn., is Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate, igniting a social media uproar as people speculate whether this was an unintentional disclosure.
In her post on Friday afternoon on X, Parker reaffirmed her support for Harris’ campaign and expressed her backing for Shapiro as her vice presidential candidate, even though Harris has not yet announced her selected running mate.

“I can’t think of a better partner than our governor, Josh Shapiro,” the mayor stated in the video.
The post read, “Proud to unite with many leaders from our region in supporting @KamalaHarris for President and @JoshShapiroPA for VP! We are One CITY, One REGION, and ONE Commonwealth United!”

Social media users quickly speculated that the video was accidentally leaked by a staff member, possibly revealing the highly anticipated selection of the vice president’s running mate. However, a source close to Parker’s political team refuted this claim.
The source informed Fox News Digital that the video was intentionally posted as an endorsement for her long-time friend and hometown governor Josh Shapiro, who is currently being considered as Harris’ running mate.

Shapiro is being considered as a running mate for Harris, along with others like Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., Govs. Tim Walz, D-Minn., and Andy Beshear, D-Ky., and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
While the campaign has not announced her selection yet, the announcement is anticipated soon as the chosen candidate is expected to join her next week for a four-day battleground state tour that kicks off in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Tuesday.
