Scott Brash and his horse Jefferson dazzled in their final performance, propelling Team GB to an unexpected gold medal in the equestrian team jumping finals at Chateau de Versailles.

Brash earned one penalty point during his run, finishing with a time of 79.54 seconds, which was sufficient to secure victory over the United States and the host nation, France.

The team, which included Brash, Harry Charles, and Ben Maher, sustained only two penalty points in total across the final. France fell to bronze after Julien Epaillard accrued four penalty points, resulting in a total of seven alongside the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, McLain Ward of the USA captured silver with his horse ILEX, completing a penalty-free third round in 76.57 seconds.

The outstanding performance of the British team has elevated Team GB into the top three of the overall medal standings, boasting nine gold medals—equivalent to the USA and just three behind China.
