Kesha has always been renowned for her extravagant performances for her fans. However, this time, it seems she may have been caught off guard.

During her act at Lollapalooza 2024 on Thursday, the 37-year-old artist took command of the stage, delivering electrifying renditions of her most popular songs. While performing “Backstabber,” Kesha—dressed in a blood-splattered tank top and a mini skirt—intensified her performance by running around with a knife and making frequent stabbing gestures.

There’s just one issue. The “TiK ToK” singer stated that she was unaware she was using a “real butcher knife.”

“So apparently the prop knife went missing and was replaced with a real butcher knife taken from the kitchen, and I had no idea until now,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after the show. “You have to see it to believe it.”

“OMG? That’s incredibly unprofessional,” commented one fan.

“And if you were going to improvise?? An inquiry should be launched with your team, and someone needs to be held accountable. That’s just unacceptable,” another follower expressed.

Kesha’s team has yet to respond to Fox News Digital’s request for feedback.

The pop star explained the knife scare in another video, reaffirming, “I know I startled everyone with the last post, but these are toy knives my team rented from a Hand Prop shop in LA. They are not real knives. There’s no reason to worry or alert authorities. I’m just channeling one of my favorite performers, Shakira… inspired by a performance I adore!!! Cheers to us daring girls who aren’t afraid to push limits and take chances.”
