Galway Saturday

1.55 – Jasko Des Dames

I will be riding Jasko Des Dames in the opening maiden hurdle at Galway on Saturday.

Having won a bumper in France over a mile and a half, he performed well on his first outing for Henry in a maiden hurdle at Navan last December, and improved by finishing second in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown in January.

He hasn’t raced since finishing further down the field in a tough handicap hurdle at the Punchestown Festival, but he has been training well at home, and I am hopeful for a strong performance.

Galway Sunday

3.30 – The Folkes Tiara

I look forward to riding The Folkes Tiara in the Lord Hemphill Memorial Handicap Chase on the last day of Galway week this Sunday.

He hasn’t raced since a disappointing performance in a handicap chase at the Punchestown Festival, which was won by Wednesday’s Galway Plate winner Pinkerton. However, he has been in great form at home and is expected to do well fresh.

This race is highly competitive, as expected, and he is carrying a couple of pounds more than the handicap allows, yet it’s a suitable race for him. He’s a solid jumper, and I anticipate a good performance from him.
