Sen. JD Vance, Trump’s running mate, appeared on ‘Sunday Morning Futures’ to share his views regarding the criticism of his candidacy over the weekend.
Maria Bartiromo from Fox News pressed Vance to address the concerns from both Democrats and Republicans who suggest he may not be the ideal choice as Trump’s running mate.
“There are many voices discussing you from both the Democratic and Republican sides. You’ve likely caught wind of the concerns. Some are claiming you might not be the best pick for Trump. How are you handling this?” Bartiromo inquired.
“The media tends to target individuals who can effectively communicate President Trump’s message to a wider audience,” Vance replied. “I’m not surprised that many media insiders dislike me; their policies are the real issue. Naturally, they oppose me because we’re aiming to mend what they have damaged.”

“And I suppose the Democrats find all of this odd,” Bartiromo noted. “What’s your response to this new tactic of them calling you weird?”

“I believe it’s a significant amount of projection, honestly, Maria, from individuals who advocate for giving transgender hormones to nine-year-olds and want biological males to participate in women’s sports,” Vance stated. “I am a husband, a father, I’m happily married, and I cherish my life. I’m doing this to serve the public and address the Democrats’ failures. Their labels don’t concern me. What truly bothers me is what Kamala Harris has inflicted on this nation.”

“Kamala Harris sent interest rates soaring and welcomed millions of undocumented migrants into the country, causing competition for homes with American citizens. Their name-calling doesn’t faze me; I just hope they stop harming the nation,” he added.

Vance further criticized Harris for her lack of press engagement, noting she has not responded to any press inquiries in the 14 days since President Biden exited the race and supported her.

Current polls indicate that while Harris has fared better than Biden, she still lags behind Trump.
