Renowned Australian actress Nicole Kidman seems to have a soft spot for the outback.

The talented and somewhat elusive star showcased her relatable side, proving that she’s more grounded than her many awards and recognitions might suggest.

In a chat with Victoria Beckham, she revealed the unexpected type of car she drives.

During an interview for Vogue Australia, Beckham was curious about the vehicle driven by the “Moulin Rouge” actress. This topic emerged following Beckham’s viral statement last year in her Netflix documentary, where she shared her working-class roots, only to be challenged by her husband David Beckham to mention that her father owned a Rolls-Royce.

“Did you truly ride to school in a Rolls?” Kidman asked the beloved Spice Girl.

“Yes, my dad owned a Rolls-Royce and a white van. Growing up, I came from a working-class home, and in the ’80s, my dad, an entrepreneur, started his business from our kitchen table and eventually bought himself a Rolls-Royce after doing well. We attended an ordinary school and lived in a modest house, and the moment he saw success, he purchased that Rolls-Royce,” Beckham recounted.

“Some days we would go to school in the Rolls-Royce, and other days in the van, as my dad was working. He was an electrical wholesaler and a diligent worker. My siblings and I often begged him to let us take the white van, as we were embarrassed at the idea of riding in the Rolls-Royce. How times have changed! Nowadays, I would say, never mind the van, let’s use the Rolls! But back then, we simply wanted to blend in.”

Kidman confessed that she isn’t particularly passionate about cars, although her husband, musician Keith Urban, enjoys them.

“My husband is a car enthusiast; I’m not,” she shared with the fashion designer. “You can pick me up in anything, and I’ll be content,” she added with a smile. “I do enjoy a little air conditioning, though.”

“So, what’s your car?” Beckham pressed. “That’s what I want to know. What does Nicole drive?”

“Here’s the interesting part: My husband gifted me a Lamborghini,” she disclosed, adding that she doesn’t drive it. “I drive a Subaru, while he takes the Lamborghini out.”

Beckham pictured Kidman stepping out of a Lamborghini, famous for its scissor doors. “I envision you arriving in a Lamborghini where the doors lift up—right?”

Kidman clarified that her Lamborghini model lacks those iconic doors; it is a Urus, which starts at around $275,000.

“Oh, that’s OK… I still want to picture you in that Lamborghini with the doors that lift,” Beckham remarked.

“I believe that’s a big reason he got it for me,” Kidman said of Urban. “He is passionate about fast cars and any kind of vehicle for that matter. It’s his thing. Being from Queensland, he rose from humble beginnings. Like David and I, we all built ourselves up and made our own paths.”

This isn’t the first time Kidman has hinted at her more laid-back lifestyle. Earlier this year, in an interview with Elle magazine, she explained how residing in Tennessee has granted her the chance to simply be “just a citizen.”

“I find joy in participating in activities that aren’t connected to my career or identity, like donating necessities or visiting children’s hospitals. Just being a regular person in the world. My children appreciate when I engage in these activities too,” she reflected.
