Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., cautioned former President Trump to concentrate on Vice President Harris’ poor decision-making rather than her background as he campaigns for a second term in the White House.

During his appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” Fox’s Jacqui Heinrich inquired about Trump’s statements regarding Harris’ racial background.

“What I would communicate to President Trump is that my issue with Kamala Harris is not about her background, it’s about her judgment,” Graham stated. “She has consistently been incorrect. When she attempted to articulate her plan regarding inflation and a looming recession, it was nonsensical. It was absolute nonsense.”

This week, Trump shared a photo of Harris’ birth certificate on Truth Social after facing backlash for his comments during a Q&A session at the National Association of Black Journalists in Chicago on Wednesday.

“She has always embraced her Indian heritage, and that’s what she promoted,” the former president remarked during the Q&A. “I didn’t realize she was Black until quite a while ago when she decided to identify as Black. So, I’m uncertain. Is she Indian or is she Black?”

Heinrich questioned Graham about Trump’s remarks and whether they might alienate millions of Black voters, including those in his home state of South Carolina.

The senator mentioned that 30% of his state’s population is African American, noting that former Gov. Nikki Haley is of Indian descent, and one of her children is married to an African-American football player from Clemson University.

“Every day we discuss her background instead of her poor, hazardous liberal track record throughout her whole political career. It’s a good day for her and a bad day for us,” Graham remarked. “Therefore, I would urge President Trump to make the case against Kamala Harris’ poor judgment.”

Graham also conveyed to Trump during the interview that this election is his to lose.
