Former President Trump promised to establish America as a leader in global energy.
The 2024 Republican presidential candidate engaged in a conversation with Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures” to delve into his economic and energy strategies.
“We’re going to significantly reduce energy costs. Drill, baby, drill,” he stated.
Trump contended that lowering energy prices could alleviate other issues, such as inflation.
When asked how his economic approach contrasts with that of Vice President Kamala Harris, he mentioned he intends to “emphasize energy” in his plans.

“We possess more energy — I refer to it as liquid gold — beneath our land than Saudi Arabia, Russia, or anyone else,” he claimed. “We are going to dominate in energy, generating substantial profits while supplying energy all over Europe and worldwide. Our output will be double or triple theirs. We will have incredible energy, and we’ll lower energy costs.”

“Do you know that people in New England are paying some of the highest energy prices in the world because there’s no pipeline? New York has blocked a pipeline from going through a particularly disadvantaged area,” he expressed.
Trump also presented a plan to revive auto jobs and suggested implementing tariffs to promote the construction of manufacturing plants.
“Those supporters in Michigan, whom I cherish, will help us secure victory because their auto industry could vanish within two years if she [Harris] is elected — China and other nations will dominate auto production. They’re constructing some of the largest auto plants.”

“When everything is taken into account, including taxes and other factors, we will generate jobs like never before,” he asserted. “Auto manufacturing is down 64% from its peak. We used to be the global leader in manufacturing, but every year we lose ground, with Mexico being a major contributor. Mexico has taken 32% of our auto manufacturing. We will impose tariffs on cars imported from them.”

Trump pledged to take measures to revitalize the auto industry in his first two weeks of presidency.
“We’re going to create more auto jobs than ever before. We are reviving the automobile industry through tariffs. I’m not going to accept a status quo. I implemented tariffs on Chinese cars, and now Biden wants to revoke them — instead, he proposes taxing electric cars. That approach is insufficient. We are going to witness more production of automobiles in the United States than we’ve seen historically, and it will happen quickly.”
