Katie Ledecky doesn’t seem to be someone who enjoys extended vacations.

In the past week at the Paris Olympics, Ledecky earned four medals. She claimed gold in both the 800- and 1500-meter freestyle events, while also securing a silver in the 4×200-meter freestyle and a bronze in the 400-meter freestyle.

“I have no idea how long it will last. I’m sure I’ll get back to the pool fairly soon.”

Ledecky’s focus will shift towards the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, where she aims to compete for her fifth consecutive title in the 800-meter freestyle event.

“It’s challenging,” she remarked regarding the process of regaining high-level competition shape and earning a place on the team again. “I’ll take it one year at a time and see if I can keep giving my all for as long as I’m able.”

Ledecky has established herself as the most decorated female swimmer in U.S. Olympic history.

With nine golds and a total of 14 medals, she has surpassed Dara Torres, Jenny Thompson, and Natalie Coughlin, who each finished their Olympic careers with 12 total medals.
