Graeme Souness has shared insights about his football career and the early stages of his notable journey, revealing a manager who once failed to support him as a player.

In the latest installment of the Mail podcast ‘Everything I Know About Me’, the 71-year-old also recounted a time when his former coach criticized him for his choice of shampoo.

The Liverpool icon began his football adventure at Tynecastle Colts before joining Tottenham in 1968.

He later made a move to Middlesbrough, where he refined his skills under a legendary coach.

Souness, who claimed five league titles and three European Cups during his illustrious tenure, made 133 appearances for Boro, netting 16 goals before transferring to the team in Merseyside in 1978.
