EXCLUSIVE: Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., is launching a tour across 20 states this month to support House Republicans and GOP candidates nationwide, as confirmed by Fox News Digital, aiming to maintain his majority in the upcoming November elections.
Johnson plans to visit critical districts in Wisconsin, Arizona, Ohio, Montana, Colorado, New Mexico, Virginia, Connecticut, among other states, where he will engage with candidates and participate in fundraising activities.
In light of President Biden’s recent withdrawal from the White House race just two weeks ago, Republicans are racing to reorient themselves, effectively designating Vice President Kamala Harris as his successor.
Harris is preparing for her own series of campaign events in battleground states, starting with Pennsylvania on Tuesday, as well as stops in Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada. She is anticipated to announce her running mate before the Philadelphia event on Tuesday.

“House Republicans are taking proactive steps to expand our majority across the nation. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have devastated our economy, opened the borders, and invited chaos and conflict around the globe,” Johnson stated to Fox News Digital.
“I am eager to connect with Americans nationwide and draw comparisons between Harris’ radical and disastrous record and the common-sense, pro-growth, America First policies that Republicans will implement once we strengthen our majority, flip the Senate, and reclaim the White House.”
The 2024 election cycle is entering its crucial final phase, with approximately three months remaining until Election Day.
Since becoming speaker in October, Johnson has been an effective fundraiser for House Republicans, securing over $18.5 million for the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), the campaign arm for his conference.
Part of his August tour is focused on supporting frontline lawmakers, including a visit this week to Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District with Rep. Jen Kiggans, R-Va.

He is also planning to visit blue states where several swing districts in California, New York, and New Jersey were crucial for the GOP in reclaiming control of the House from Democrats in November 2021.
This week, Johnson will also be in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District for the launch of a new NRCC battle station, aimed at providing campaigns in critical districts with more on-the-ground support. There, Republicans aim to defeat moderate Democrat Rep. Jared Golden.
As Democrats experience a renewed sense of enthusiasm for Harris following 81-year-old Biden’s withdrawal, the former California senator’s campaign announced that it raised a record $310 million in July alone, with $200 million coming in just the first week after Biden stepped aside.
However, Johnson and other Republicans continue to express confidence, arguing that Harris shares equal responsibility for the Biden administration’s progressive policies.

At the Republican National Convention (RNC) last month, shortly before Biden’s announcement, Johnson told Fox News Digital that the identity of the top candidate in the Democratic ticket was inconsequential.

“As President Trump indicated, they had somewhat braced themselves for a Biden candidacy, but it doesn’t make a difference. If they put Kamala Harris at the top, she’s equally responsible for all the policies. It’s not an improvement,” Johnson remarked in Milwaukee.
“Their candidate choice doesn’t matter. Anyone they place in that position — this election isn’t about personalities; it’s about the policies and their impact on people.”
