Senator Josh Hawley, R-Mo., appeared on “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Monday evening to share new allegations concerning the assassination attempt aimed at former President Trump last month.
Hawley informed host Jesse Watters that he had been in touch with whistleblowers who gave him insight into the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) lead site agent present at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
During the rally, assailant Thomas Matthew Crooks fired at Trump from an inclined rooftop, striking him in the ear and resulting in the death of one individual. The 20-year-old injured two others before being shot by Secret Service agents.
The event has sparked intense scrutiny of the Secret Service from both Republican and Democratic sides in recent weeks. On “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Hawley asserted that the lead site agent was recognized as inexperienced and “inept.”

“The lead site agent, known to the Trump campaign, was identified as inexperienced, ineffective, and frankly incompetent at their job,” Hawley stated. “Whistleblowers have also informed me that on that day, she failed to enforce the regular security protocols.”
“She wasn’t verifying IDs. She didn’t deploy Secret Service agents,” Hawley continued. “The majority of agents present that day were not Secret Service; they were recruits from Homeland Security.”
The senator from Missouri added that some Secret Service personnel are dissatisfied with the agency’s response to the shooting.
“Whistleblowers are stepping forward from the Secret Service because they are shocked by the leadership’s actions,” Hawley mentioned. “They cannot believe that the Secret Service is not taking the initiative to eradicate the issues.”

“They are genuinely terrified that this could occur once more. We must ensure it does not. We need to uncover the facts,” the Senator concluded.
Shortly after this interview, Hawley made an X post detailing a critical letter he sent to Secret Service acting director Ronald L. Rowe on Monday. In his correspondence, he demanded an explanation for the assignment of the lead site agent to the rally and why certain protocols were disregarded.
“I urge you to immediately suspend the lead site agent from all Secret Service responsibilities while these allegations are investigated,” Hawley insisted.
