“We underwent a similar procedure with the launch of VAR in England – I was the referee for the very first match where VAR made its debut in the country – thus I have witnessed firsthand both the successes and the areas needing improvement, in my capacity as a referee and within my responsibilities at PGMOL.”

“I am eager to collaborate with the referees and the team at the Scottish FA to enhance the operation of VAR in Scottish football.”

VAR has been implemented in the Scottish Premiership since October 2022 and has sparked controversy at times, especially concerning the interpretation of the handball rule.

Collum commented on Moss: “I am convinced that his experience will not only aid our current VARs and AVARs but also nurture the next generation who will need to master this technology as we strive to enhance its application.”
