The current attendance record is held by an exhibition game between the Red Sox and Dodgers in 2008, which saw 113,000 fans in attendance at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
This game continues a series of special events that MLB has introduced in its recent schedule, with games played in Europe, Asia, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. In 2018, the league also commenced the Little League Classic in Williamsport, Pa., coinciding with the annual tournament.

Three years later, the Field of Dreams Game was introduced in Iowa, a tribute to the beloved film. Earlier this season, MLB returned to its origins by playing at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Ala., home to the Negro League’s Black Barons, where Willie Mays began his professional career, shortly before his passing.
“It’ll be exciting to do something different,” stated Braves third baseman Austin Riley. “With teams traveling and mixing things up, I think it will be a unique and enjoyable experience.”

The teams are scheduled to compete in a four-game series from May 5 to May 8, with Atlanta designated as the home team, and again from August 1 to August 3, when the Reds will host.
Bristol is located about 300 miles from both the Reds’ and Braves’ stadiums.
