- George Mills seemed to be pushed by French runner Hugo Hay during the contest
- This resulted in the Team GB athlete colliding with another competitor nearby
- The son of former England player Danny fell alongside three other athletes
The son of a former England footballer was left outraged after his 5,000m heat at the Paris Olympics, having been caught in a chaotic collision during the final stretch of the race.
George Mills, the child of ex-Leeds defender Danny, aimed to advance from the 5,000m heat earlier today and found himself in a sprint alongside French runner Hugo Hay just behind the leading group.
Nevertheless, Mills seemed to be shoved by Hay, causing him to trip and entangle legs with another competitor on his other side.
Both athletes fell hard, alongside two unfortunate runners behind them who were unable to evade the collision.
Mills expressed his fury post-race, finishing in 18th place and failing to qualify, and promptly confronted Hay, who managed to finish seventh and move on to the next round.

Mills approached Hay, pointing at him while expressing his discontent with the 27-year-old Frenchman.
