Some Democrats in San Francisco are hesitant to endorse Vice President Harris as the top candidate, pointing to her history as a district attorney and senator from California.
“I have mixed feelings about her because she was the district attorney,” shared Christine, a San Francisco Democrat, with the San Francisco Standard.
Harris, who is now the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, held the position of DA from 2004 to 2011 before serving as California’s attorney general until 2017. She was a senator from California for four years prior to being appointed as President Biden’s running mate.
“Maybe 10 years ago I would have been enthusiastic. I don’t know,” Christine remarked.

Free Williams, 63, expressed to the Standard that Harris failed to fulfill her promise to “uplift” San Francisco.
“You’re just trying to get in the house,” Williams commented. “But you need to do the work.”
Williams mentioned feeling “skeptical” about Harris and expressed her intention to research other candidates.

Conversely, other Democrats who spoke with the San Francisco Standard applauded Harris, referencing her experience as a district attorney as a source of their enthusiasm.

“Even my mother — turning 75 in September — I told her I think I’ll volunteer for the campaign. This will be the first time I ever do that. I didn’t even do it with Obama,” shared Felicia Pitre, 56. “And she replied, ‘You know what, maybe I can help, too.’”
Other voters conveyed to the San Francisco Standard that the contest between Harris and Donald Trump was obvious.
“Ultimately, we have two candidates: Kamala Harris, a Black woman from San Francisco, and Trump,” stated Uzuri Pease-Greene to the outlet. “If Trump assumes office, everyone might as well brace for the worst, and you can quote me on that.”

The Harris campaign revealed that the Vice President has raised an impressive $200 million in funding in just under a week following Biden’s exit.
The campaign highlighted this as a “record-breaking achievement,” noting in a press release Sunday that approximately two-thirds of the donations came from first-time contributors, which they argued further demonstrates the strong grassroots support for the Vice President.
The Harris campaign did not immediately reply to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
