GB targets equestrian gold

Tom Daley won’t be alone in seeking gold as several athletes compete from about 10am BST.

The final day of eventing will see showjumping determine the medalists.

Team GB is well-positioned ahead of France after dressage and cross-country phases.

Individual performances are crucial as the top 25 athletes qualify for the individual jumping finals.

A busy Monday for Team GB

Here’s what Team GB has lined up for today with multiple opportunities to secure medals.

Men’s hockey: Ireland 1-1 Australia

In men’s hockey, Ireland aims to bounce back from a prior match loss to Belgium.

They are currently level with the world-ranked third team, Australia, after being down 1-0.

Lee Cole successfully leveled the score by converting a short corner with a precise low shot.

A well-executed set-piece to bring them back into the game.

Kirsty Gilmour starts strong

Team GB’s Kirsty Gilmour kicked off her badminton singles tournament with an impressive victory this morning.

She defeated Azerbaijan’s Keisha Fatima Azzahra with scores of 21-13, 21-11.

Following this win, she sits second in Group N, behind He Bingjao.

Team GB in Judo competition

Lele Nairne from Team GB is set to compete today in the -57kg judo category.

The 26-year-old will face Georgia’s Eteri Liparteliani, currently ranked seventh in the world.

It’s a challenging opening round for the British contender, but her Olympic experience will boost her confidence.

Chinese Taipei clinch 4-0 victory

The silver medalists from Tokyo advance to the quarter-finals.

Team GB fought hard but struggled to gain the upper hand and are therefore eliminated from the competition.

Chinese Taipei appears to be a strong contender going forward.

Team GB trailing in archery

The men’s archery team from Great Britain is currently up against Chinese Taipei and find themselves down 4-0.

They must win the third set to keep their hopes alive in the match.

At present, they lead 55-28 with Taipei yet to shoot.

It’s day three of the Paris Olympics, and there are numerous medals up for grabs.

First to compete are Tom Daley and Noah Williams in the 10m synchronized diving event.

Tom Pidcock is also set to defend his mountain bike championship in the afternoon.

Max Whitlock leads the charge for Team GB in the gymnastics team event.

Later this evening, Duncan Scott and Matt Richards will compete in the 200m freestyle finals.
