American athletes Jagger Eaton and Nyjah Huston earned silver and bronze medals, respectively, in the men’s skateboarding street final on Monday afternoon during the Paris Olympics.
Both Eaton and Huston had opportunities to secure the gold medal with their final tricks, but neither was able to execute successfully. Nonetheless, they each claimed a medal.

Japan’s Yuto Horigome achieved a score of 97.08 on his final trick, securing his second consecutive Olympic gold medal.
Eaton improved his positioning on the podium from 2020, where he earned a bronze medal in Tokyo during skateboarding’s Olympic debut. He finished behind Horigome and Brazil’s Kelvin Hoeffler.

Horigome ended with a total score of 281.14, while Eaton followed closely with a score of 281.04. Had Eaton successfully completed his final trick, he might have clinched the gold medal.
Huston earned his first Olympic medal. Last year, he reached the finals after a third-place finish in the semifinals but ended up in seventh place out of eight in the final.
