American gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik captured attention on Monday as he waited for his turn during the team finals, preparing for his pommel horse routine.
The broadcast cameras during the Paris Olympics frequently showed Nedoroscik mentally gearing up for his event while observing his teammates, Frederick Richard, Brody Malone, Paul Juda, and Asher Hong, compete in their respective events. Nedoroscik was specifically needed for the pommel horse.

Nedoroscik is set to compete again in the pommel horse final next week.
“This is just another day of gymnastics,” he noted. “While it’s the biggest stage in the world and occurs once every four years, I’m still putting chalk on my hands and competing for the team; it feels no different.”
