Atletico Madrid is currently negotiating with Chelsea for the acquisition of midfielder Conor Gallagher.

The 24-year-old player is on vacation following his participation in Euro 2024 with England in Germany, and discussions between clubs are underway.

Gallagher has not yet settled personal terms with the Spanish team and might require some persuasion to accept the transfer.

However, Chelsea seems willing to sell Gallagher, who is in the final year of his contract, set to expire in June 2025.

Although there have been initial discussions this summer regarding a contract renewal, it remains uncertain if the proposed conditions will be sufficient to retain Gallagher, who has been a Chelsea player since he was six.

Last summer, both Tottenham and West Ham expressed interest in him, but there has been little movement regarding a Premier League transfer this year.

Before a match against Club America in Atlanta, new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca commented on Gallagher’s future, stating: “The transfer window is open, so unfortunately, anything can happen—not just with Conor, but with all the players.”

Chelsea has also shown interest in Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion, who is currently concentrating on the Olympics with Spain and is not open to offers, and it is reported that at least one bid from Chelsea has been rejected this summer.
