- He had an evening out with fellow swimmers
Cody Simpson may not be competing in the Olympic Games in Paris, but the pop star-turned-swimmer is certainly having a great time in France.
At 27, Simpson missed the chance to qualify for this year’s event at Australia’s time trials, which dashed his hopes of competing on an international stage.
However, he traveled to Paris to support his former teammates and his girlfriend Emma McKeon, who is recognized as Australia’s most decorated Olympian, as they strive for medals.
Simpson has also been enjoying the Parisian attractions, having been spotted at the iconic Moulin Rouge on Tuesday night.
According to News Corp, he spent the evening out with fellow swimmers Cameron Usher, Bowen Gough, and Matt Ferraro.
Jasmine Bard, an Australian performer from the troupe, shared a picture with Simpson and the dancing girls on social media.
‘It was wonderful to meet you all,’ she wrote online, accompanied by an Australian flag emoticon.
She shared a photo with the group, adding: ‘I hope you all enjoyed the show.’

McKeon won gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay on Saturday and is aiming for another gold in the relay later this week.
She is currently residing in the Olympic Village, which has faced criticism and deemed ‘woke’ by some.
Paris Games organizers aimed to make this Olympics the most eco-friendly ever, focusing on sustainability in various aspects.
However, this strong emphasis on the environment has led to subpar conditions for athletes striving for excellence, resulting in fewer world records being broken.

Each room lacks air conditioning, resulting in excessively warm temperatures, and the accommodations consist of basic cardboard beds.
Australian swimming star Ariarne Titmus has labeled the conditions as ‘absurd’.
‘It might not be the timing I expected, but living in the Olympic Village makes it challenging to perform,’ she confessed in a statement on Sunday.
‘It’s definitely not designed for optimal performance; it’s about who can maintain mental strength.’
