Ipswich Town, newly promoted to the Premier League, has acquired Conor Townsend from Championship side West Brom for an undisclosed fee.
The 31-year-old full-back has agreed to a two-year deal with Ipswich, who will kick off their first Premier League season since 2002 against Liverpool at home on 17 August.

Townsend joins Kieran McKenna’s squad as they prepare for their first season in the top flight in 22 years.
In addition to Townsend, Ipswich has also secured Chelsea’s 20-year-old forward Omari Hutchinson in a club record deal estimated at £20m initially, with an additional £2.5m possible through performance-related incentives.
The club has also welcomed former West Ham defender Ben Johnson, 24, on a free transfer, Hull City centre-back Jacob Greaves, 23, for an undisclosed fee, and forward Liam Delap, 21, from Manchester City in a deal that could total up to £20m, along with Kosovo goalkeeper Arijanet Muric, 25, from Burnley in a transfer worth up to £15m.
