Fans of the Olympics found themselves in stitches after seeing the names of the Chinese diving team form an unexpected phrase on screen.
This morning, China further cemented their dominance by winning gold in the men’s 3m springboard synchro final.
While the Mexican duo offered some thrilling dives, they ultimately fell short of China’s remarkable score of 446.10 at the Aquatic Centre.
However, viewers were mildly distracted during the final as they noticed an amusing combination of the competitors’ names displayed live.
Daoyi Long and Zongyuan Wang mesmerized the crowd with their flawless routines, but it was their names that garnered global attention.

Social media was awash with Olympics viewers pointing out the hilarious combination of Chinese names
Amused fans quickly took to social media after the event, eager to see if others noticed what they had seen.
Adrian Gosling tweeted: ‘Long/Wang competing in the Olympics this morning. No, YOU grow up.’
Another user mentioned the US team of Kassidy Cook and Sarah Bacon, who took silver in the women’s 3m synchronized springboard event, and remarked that the Chinese pair had outshone them in laughter.
They commented: ‘Wasn’t expecting Cook/Bacon to be beaten but there it is.’
A third person wrote: ‘Every schoolboy in the country will be tittering at the Long Wang duo.’
Meanwhile, Iain Miles noted: ‘Me trying not to giggle like a child upon seeing the Chinese diving couple of Long/Wang.’
Once fans managed to look beyond the amusing names, they witnessed Team GB diving duo Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding securing a bronze medal after a confident final dive.
The pair scored 438.15, placing them behind the Mexican team of Juan Manuel Celaya Hernandez and Osmar Olvera Ibarra, while China’s Zongyuan Wang and Daoyi Long clinched the gold.

The duo claimed bronze after finishing the men’s 3m springboard final with a total score of 438.15
The world champions performed admirably but faced fierce competition, finishing just 2.07 points ahead of their nearest rivals.
The efforts of Laugher and Harding in the Aquatics Centre brought Team GB’s medal count to 22 on the seventh day of the Games. Furthermore, the team has retained its streak of medaling in every diving event thus far in Paris.
The 29-year-old Laugher has now added an Olympic bronze to his collection, which includes medals from previous Games in Rio and Tokyo.
